Tommy Myllymäki – Swedens competitor in Bocuse d´Or 2014/2015
Tommy Myllymäki is , despite his young age, an accomplished chef and an ambitious restaurateur with a keen sense of purpose and focus. He is not only a silver medal laureates in Bocuse d’Or, he also has a solid background from numerous renowned restaurants throughout Sweden. He is and was an integral part of cooking shows like “Mitt Kök” and “Sverigeresan” in Swedish morning TV. Tommy can also claim the victory in the Swedish version of Top Chef Masters called “Kockarnas Kamp”.
Today he spends most of his time practising and preparing for Bocuse d’Or 2014-2015 and when he’s not doing that, he focuses on his own restaurant Sjön(Swedish for The lake).Sjön is located in Jönköping and opened in December 2012. Tommy also runs Julita Inn just outside Katrineholm and serves as the creative and gastronomic leader for Svenska Brasserier; wich includes restaurants like Taverna Brillo, Riche and Sturehof.
Tommy Myllymäki won Bocuse d’Or Sweden competition, in wich some of Swedens most accomplished chefs took part, and will represent Sweden in Bocuse d’or Europe 2014 in Stockholm and Bocuse d’Or 2015 in Lyon. This will be the second time around competing in Bocuse d’Or for Tommy, he represented Sweden in Lyon 2011 and came home with a silver medal. This time he’s aiming for gold. - It’s an amazing feeling to have achieved my first goal and an incredible honour to represent Sweden in Bocuse d’Or again. Last time, in 2011, I got a silver and this time I’m going for gold, of course! says Tommy Myllymäki
